PDO Threads

PDO, or polydioxanone are polymer used as medical sutures. In a thread lift procedure, PDO threads are embedded just beneath the surface of the skin with a small steel pole, or cannula (no needle).

The threads are placed in areas of your face, brows, and neck which may be laxed, sagging, thinner, or in need of a lift.  The threads causes collagen production in the area which leads to increased volume and firmness over time.

PDO threads have a high safety profile, absorption completely and have not been shown to cause tissue concerns. The risk for scarring is absent when inserted correctly (by a highly trained provider).

There are several sizes of threads; some are smoother, others have barbs for lifting.  The smooth threads help create collagen, smooth tissue and scars more superficially, where as the barbed threads create a lift.

The effects of a thread lift are visible immediately and improve over several months. Results are not permanent but can last for up to two years.  Although not permanent, collagen is produced in the area where the threads were place.

 Downtime is minimal with PDO thread treatment and produces even better results when combined with other volumizing procedures, such as PRF or dermal fillers.
